| The Only Private-Initiative, All-Volunteer Non-Profit Rebuilding the People & the Land of Israel--Allowing refugees like Nina and Suleima to pay reduced-rates for rental homes means that they eventually "made it". That first step up, in a land with no wide-spread rental housing, makes a real difference for those hoping to buy. |

| Family of Four Finds Shelter--Anatoly, Asia, 15-year-old Narina, and 6-year-old Anya came from Sochi and found their first rental home with Operation Restoration. They liked the two bedroom garden property--compact, but just right for starting a new life in Israel. |

| Moved To Israel In Her Mid-80's -- Almost ninety years old, Anna comes from Ukraine. She resides with her also-elderly niece in a lovely Operation Restoration home whose balcony catches the afternoon breeze. |

Trying Different Cities -- New immigrants try to locate the best jobs in the best locations. To do this, they require rental housing which gives access to new opportunities in new cities. Polina came from Leningrad along with her 10-year-old daughter. "This is the best!" the young lady says of her Operation Restoration rental home. |

| He's a One-Man Va'ad Bayit--Recent Ukrainian immigrant Volko is Operation Restoration's "secret weapon". Living in a rehabbed complex of five apartments around a central courtyard, this industrious man keeps an eye on everything. He pulls weeds, waters the plants, checks on the elderly. Volko's a "youngster" in his early eighties! |

| Extended Family with Nowhere to Live--Parents Sasha and Mila, from Rostov-on-Don, rented a one-bedroom apartment from Operation Restoration. When their grown daughter, Zhanna, her husband and two daughters Vera and Christina, could not locate a rental property, this family (plus cats!) stayed in the walled courtyard for a couple of months. Not ideal, but that's the housing market.... |

On His Own, But Thinking of Others--Anatoly, early fifties, likes his Operation Restoration renovated home. (He most likely was born the same year it was built!) With a sister living in another city, Anatoly really appreciates the ground-level home that can accommodate her special needs due to leg problems. He takes her for therapy often. |

| Is She a Refugee? Our international director is not a modern-day immigrant, but her grandparents found help from kind souls when they fled Russia during the Bolshevik Revolution. With a little imagination, it's not difficult to imagine oneself as a newcomer-in-need. Would anyone help? Would anyone care? These desperate rental housing shortages exist today in Israel. Please help. |

| We Rewrite the Story with a Happy Ending--What have refugees like Polina (left) and Olga (right) seen in their lifetimes? War, heartache, anti-Semitism, persecution.... It's time to rewrite the story and make their latter years meaningful and enjoyable...in the Land of Israel! All we need is money. |

| Affordable Rent Means Money to Attend University--Yulia made aliyah to Israel just in time to give birth. Her husband left her shortly thereafter.... Now the baby is a toddler, and Yulia is in her mid-twenties. From the Ukraine, she happily credits her attractive, affordable home with giving her the opportunity to attend nursing school at the university. |

| Husband Brings Wife & Son to the Promised Land--We first interviewed Bogdan at the car wash where he worked non-stop, saving shekels to bring Katya and 16-year-old Pavel to Israel from Crimea. One year later, they're here! This teen is studying hard, already speaking Hebrew well, and knows that a future in Israel is full of promise. |

The Project that Keeps on Giving--Once an older property is purchased and renovated by tax-deductible donations, it continues to help needy Jewish refugees for years to come. The project also positively impacts tenants, such as this mother and son. They were enabled to save money, get a home of their own, but cared for former Operation Restoration neighbor Luvov (below) when she had a heart attack. |

| Retiree with No Relatives in Israel--In her late sixties, Luvov made aliyah (immigrated) to Israel from Dagestan. A former tailor, she fled the former Soviet Union because of anti-Semitism. Luvov, who suffers from heart problems, enjoys her studio apartment and caring for the fragrant flowers outside her door. |

| Engaged To Be Married -- This is a happy story, one that's repeated by many Russian refugees. Boy meets girl in their adopted homeland, and they embark on a new path together. Liora's dreams are coming true as she and her Russian fiance will soon be married. Meanwhile, the affordable apartment is helping her save her shekels for the big day. Her groom now serves in the Israeli Air Force. |

Pre-Teen Russian Grandchildren--It may be a joke, but it's also true: our director is known in all the worst parts of town! These kids spotted her and ran to bring flowers, realizing how blessed their grandparents are to be living in a lovely, renovated rental home close to everything! |

| Leah, Independent, Yet Safe & Secure--She was born in Russia in 1910 and has experienced her share of world history! A former farmer, Leah moved to Israel in her late eighties. She lives on her own, but in close proximity to other Operation Restoration tenants. Without any close relatives, we've all adopted her. She loves to chat with visitors in the garden. |
